KEKKEI GENKAI

Kekkei genkai are one or more abilities abilities that have been passed down a blood line (a clan). Dojustu (or doujutsu) are kekkei genkai of the eyes.

Doujutsu

Sharingan
sharingan is a doujutsu (eye jutsu), and these special red-eyes were inherited exclusively by the Uchiha clan. sharingan enables the owner to copy opponent's jutsu. yet there's a higher type of sharingan i.e. Mangekyou. it can only be awakened under one condition, killing their own best friend.

Byakugan
literally means 'white eyes' (since the iris is white). though not as cool as sharingan, these eyes also have special purpose i.e. a vast distance and penetrating view (almost 360°). however these eyes could only detect chakra. every Hyuuga clan member inherits these 'lovely' eyes, for instance Neji and Hinata.

Rinnegan
literally means 'Samsara Eye' (samsara has to do with the cycle of birth and death). it is the most powerful of the three dojutsu, and is admired to have the ability to bring forth all ninjutsu. like the Sharingan, the Rinnegan has the ability to control the tailed beasts. the most powerful ability granted by the Rinnegan is the ability to control the Six Paths of Pain.

The Six Paths of Pain are:

• Animal Path - grants the ability to summon animals which have the Rinnegan. the animals serve a variety of purposes, but usually focus on providing overwhelming offense to multiple opponents.
• Asura Path - grants the ability to summon special armor which provides a variety of weapons and defensive mechanisms. the user of the Asura Path grows three faces (for 360° defense), and six arms and a metal blade-like belt. some other body modifications include extreme strength, rockets, and restraining devices.
• Deva Path - grants the ability to attract and repel objects. this power is the most useful in battle, as it is extremely versatile as a defense and an offense.
• Human Path - grants the ability to interrogate an enemy as well as remove their soul.
• Naraka Path - grants the ability to utilize the King of Hell. the King of Hell gives two abilies: the ability to interrogate targets, and the ability to heal. if you lie while being interrogated by the King of Hell, your soul is removed from your body. healing is done by the King of Hell consuming the body of the target, and regurgitating it.
• Outer Path - grants the ability to control life and death. this is considered the Seventh Path of Pain.
• Preta Path - grants the ability to absorb an infinite amount of chakra. this can be done by absorbing the chakra of ANY attack (like Rasengan) or by absorbing the chakra of an individual through contact.

• Blaze Release aka Inferno Style - grants the ability to manipulate the flames of Amaterasu. User: Sasuke Uchiha
• Boil Release aka Vapour Style - combines fire and water chakra to make a corrosive vapor which can melt anything. User: Mei Terumi
• Crystal Release aka Crystal Style - rare field of elemental jutsu which grants the user the ability to create and manipulate crystals. User: Guren (anime only)
• Dark Style - can be used to absorb, manipulate, and release chakra taken from an opponent. User: Hiruko (3rd movie only)
• Dust Release aka Particle Style - combines Earth, Wind, and Fire chakra to make geometrical shapes which surround a target and disintegrate their molecules. Users: Mu (the 2nd Tsuchikage) and Onoki (the 3rd Tsuchikage)(
• Explosion Release - grants the ability to use explosive chakra in combat. Users: Iwagakure's Explosion Corps, Deidara
• Ice Release aka Ice Style - grants the ability to manipulate water and wind chakra in any fashion. Haku used this ability to create ice-based techniques. Users: Yuki Clan (Haku)
• Kurama Clan's Kekkai Genkai - grants the ability to cast irrestable genjutsu that can manipulate the brain of the target to feel that the events occurring within the genjutsu are physically real, allowing the user to kill the target through genjutsu. User: Yakumo Kuruma (last surviving member of clan)
• Lava Release aka Corrosion Style of Lava Style - grants the user the ability to combine fire and earth chakras to create lava that can serve a variety of purposes.Users: Mei Terumi (Fifth Mizukage), the Four-Tails, Roshi (ex-host of the Four-Tails), Kurotsuchi, Dodai (manga only).
• Magnet Release - allows the user to convert chakra into magnetic forces. Users: Third Kazekage, Fourth Kazekage, Toroi
• Ranmaru's Kekkai Genkai - a dojutsu that grants penetrating vision, disrupting eye-based kekkei genkai, and a unique chakra particle extension. It is not listed above with the other dojutsu because this ability only appears in one character in the anime.Users: Ranmaru (anime only)
• Rinha Clan's Kekkai Genkai - grants the ability to absorb a target's chakra and then take on the appearance and memories of the target. User: Malice (video game only - Naruto Shippuden 3D)Sakon and Ukon's Kekkai Genkai - grants the ability to merge with a target's body and destroy the cells of the target. User: Sakon and Ukon
• Scorch Release - grants the ability to create chakra which can heat up an enemy to the point that all water escapes and the target dies. User: Pakura
• Shikotsumyaku aka Corpse Bone Chain - grants the user the ability to manipulate their skeletal structure for defensive and offensive techniques. Users: Kaguya Clan (Kimimaro)
• Steel Release - grants the ability to turn the user's body into black steel, making it almost impossible to destroy. User: Hiruko (3rd Shippuden Movie)
• Storm Release aka Gale Style - grants the ability to create beams of energy that can be directed toward the target. Combines Lightning and Water chakra. User: Darui (3rd Shippuden Movie)
• Swift Release - grants the ability for the user to move at almost instantaneous speed. Very similar to the Body Flicker Technique. User; Darui (3rd Shippuden Movie)
• Wood Release aka Wood Style - grants the ability to combine Earth and Water techniques to create wooden structures or trees. This technique is specific to the Senju clan. Users: First Hokage (Hashirama Senju), Danzo Shimura, Madara Uchiha, Yamato, Zetsu
